I Dropped the Ball....

Posted on May 30 2019

It’s been almost a full year since my blog post. I take full responsibility for it so I thought I’d share a few things that have occurred since then so you’ll get an idea of why it's been so long!

1. The Move

What move? Well, last July I made the decision to move. I don’t mean down the road either. I made a 400-mile move to a completely different state. A little more than a month later, my friend & I loaded up a U-Haul and my car to make the trip to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Other than a few years away for college this was the first time in my life to live somewhere completely different. It was exhilarating!

Pre-Move Packing - No Fun at All

A few boxes into the packing stages. This part (and unpacking) was the worst part of the move!

2. Why Louisiana?

My day job allows me to live wherever I want and I was lucky enough to work in the Baton Rouge area a few years ago. Other than a few people who live close by, I knew no one here. Yes, at the point you may be thinking I’m entirely crazy but I knew in the end it would be worth it.

Living Room at my new apartment

Latest pic of my living room! I spent a LOT of time here but it's still a work in progress. Most pillows are from With Lavender & Grace by the way!!

3. How do you like it?

I love it here! I can’t see myself ever moving back to small town Arkansas. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with small town life but I didn’t know what I was missing until I experienced life near a city. I can find anything and everything I would ever need, most within a 15 minute drive. There’s an active social scene with things to do any time I want. I settled in and met people by joining a gym. Not a CrossFit gym but one specializing in barre, pilates and yoga. It has become my happy place (and the best form of stress release) and if you’re ever in the area I’d love for you to join me for a class! Shameless plug for [re]form Fitness in Prairieville!

Third Annual Little Black Dress Challenge

Last year's Little Black Dress Challenge at [re]Form Fitness! I'm in the back row in the navy dress.

4. What about the shop?

We still continue to operate out of our “warehouse” in Arkansas. Mom (Janice) has had to assume the primary role of official order packer, inventory taker and purchaser as well as photographer. I handle the social media and marketing side of the business. We still chat about business on a daily basis (sometimes multiple times daily).

Fruit and Cheese Charcuterie Board

The last pic Mom took during an impromptu photo shoot! The results were yummy!

5. When is the next blog post?

I do have another blog post planned so YAY for me! It’s been in the works for a month or two I just haven’t had a chance to sit down and make it happen. I promise I'm working on that now.
